On 1st October 2003 the National Wage Regulation 1999 (Amendment)
Regulations came into force.

This increases the minimum hourly rate from £4.20 to £4.50;
it also includes an increase of a rate to be paid to workers
between the ages of 18 & 21 from £3.60 to £3.80.
It also deals with the principal regulation relating to the
valuation of accommodation where an employer provides a worker
accommodation.
