As Solicitor Advocate and the firm's Court Partner, Margaret
is a highly experienced litigator with additional rights of
audience to represent clients in the Court of Session and the
House of Lords. She specialises in civil litigation, media law
and intellectual property. She is also qualified as a
solicitor in England.

A key contributor to the firm's media department, Margaret advises
the firm's many newspaper clients on a daily and nightly basis
on matters of defamation, contempt, PCC code and privacy.
As part of the firm's intellectual property department Margaret
advises newspapers, Colleges of Further Education, publishers,
companies and individuals on issues of copyright, passing off,
confidentiality and data protection.
As the firm's court partner, she heads up the civil court team,
specialising in commercial litigation and family law.

The
team also assists newspaper clients and individuals in raising
and defending actions for defamation, breach of privacy and
other IP rights.
Margaret also presents seminars on defamation, copyright and
data protection.
In 2004 Margaret gained a Masters Degree in Information Technology
and Intellectual Property (with distinction).
